A new study published in Fertility and Sterility, the journal of the American Society of Reproductive Medivine indicates that using a laptop connected to a wireless network, or wi-fi, can impact male fertility. Although the wi-fi didn’t actually kill the sperm it did significantly decrease the sperm motility and an increase the sperm DNA fragmentation, not good news for male fertility.
So this can be added to the list of other things men need to be wary of when wanting to optimise their fertility which include:
- Reduce stress
- Limit cycling (heats groin area up)
- Stop smoking
- Limit alcohol
- Regular exercise
- Healthy diet, especially no trans-fats
- No tight underwear
- Don’t keep mobile phone in trouser pocket
- Limit caffeine
- Don’t use your laptop on your lap using wi-fi
